Information Participants

The fourth edition of the Rijsbergen Kite Festival will be organised on 18tht and 19th of August 2012. (Every year the 3rd weekend of August).

You can registrate here and you will be mentioned on the participants list. (you can also send an email)

When you have registrated through this site, you will receive a lunch package on Saterday and Sunday.  When you arrive, please report at the information stand, you will receive an envelope with all the necessary information and a nice present !

On Friday evening there will be a welcome drink at 20.00 Hours in the big stand. The rest of the evening all prices will be only 1 euro.

On saterday evening we will have a Buffet. If you want to enjoy us, we will kindly ask a small amount for this barbeque.  You can subscribe through the registration form or email us.

General

It is no problem to spend the night with a tent or caravan. From Friday 17th of August 2012, 12.00 Hours, you can arrive on the Kite fields, till Monday 20th of August 2012, 12.00 Hours. There is free use of electricity and water, there are toilletes available. When you arrive with Tent or Caravan please park as close to your neighbours as much as possible, so that all participants have a place to spend the night on the kite field.

We have a demonstration field, on which we want to explain the public what you can do with all kind of kites and which kites there are made around the world, this will be on saterday and sunday from 12.00-17.00 hours. So if you have a nice kite or want to show something, please contact us by mail, or you can come to us at the information stand during the Rijsbergen Kite Festival. It would be nice if we were able to show the public all the different possibilities with kites.

Public award

On Saterday from 10.00 - 17.00 hours and on Sunday from 10.00 - 12.00 hours, pictures will be made of everything what has to do with kiting and which is present on the kite fields. These pictures will be shown at the info stand. On Sunday from 13.00 - 15.00 hours,we ask the public the vote on the picture which they think is the most beautiful kite.

The winners, which has been chosen by the public, will be announced Sunday at 16.00 hours, They (the first three) will get a price.  The number one is the winner of the Public award Rijsbergse Vliegerdagen 2012 ! We will draw one person from the public which has voted, this person will also receive a price.

Night kite award

During the Night kite session on Saterday evening from 20.30-20.00 Hours, the organisation will choose the most beautiful "lighted" kite. The owner of this kite wil also receive a price on Sunday at 16.00 Hours.

Location

The Rijsbergen Kite Festival will be held in the pastures of the Family Machielsen, Tiggeltsestraat 13 at 4891zp Rijsbergen. We have more than 60000 square meters available. We also have an extra field for visitors parking space.

Route :

From direction Breda Highway A16 take the exit Rijsbergen, follow the signs Rijsbergen. In Rijsbergen, follow the road through the village, just outside the village take the first road on your right, de Stokbeemd, end of this road go to the left, Tiggeltsestraat, after 300 meters on your left side is the entrance of the Kitefields.

From direction Antwerpen, take the exit Meer/Zundert, follw the signs Zundert. In the village Zundert follow the signs Rijsbergen. After appr 3 kilometers (1 kilometer after Gardenshop Bosrand) go to the left, de Stokbeemd. End of this road go to the left, Tiggeltsestraat, after 300 meters on your left side is the entrance of the Kitefields.

Or (the easiest way) follow the signs "Rijsbergse Vliegerdagen".

Public Transport :

You reach the kitefestival bij bus, drop off at busstop "beemdstraat". The kitefestival is at this busstop. Take bus number 115, Breda-Rijsbergen-Zundert. Here you can find more information http://www.veolia-transport.nl/dienstregeling/
